She Smiles

She Smiles

A Poem by A. L. Robinson

She smiles,

in hopes of disguising

her fall from grace.

Crying,

only when darkness sets

shadowing tears.

She smiles,

even as eternal

flames ignite fear.

Burning,

through years of innocence

now ash of dream.

Okay, I think I am going to stop writing poetry now because you have shown me what true poetry and what a true poet really is and that is a far cry from who I am :)
