A Poem by Seasick Fist
"

A short poem inspired by the recent flurry of #twittertag meme's that have sprung up recently. Using only real ones I've seen.

"

I value concepts such as wisdom and morality above ego or wealth,

#ReasonsWhyILoveMyself

You care more about how others perceive you and aren’t afraid of being phoney,

#ReasonsWhyYouAreLonely

The new plague of ‘celebrities’, Justin Beiber and the entire genre of Pop,

#ThingsThatShouldSTOP

A time when kids were happy with simple things instead of a console or a Mac,

#LetsBringBack

“You don’t know me fam innit tho” being yelled from nearby apartments,

#ThingsBlackPeopleSayInArguments

Barely sixteen year old mothers finding parenthood more difficult than they expect,

#MyChildsNotPerfect

I just had lunch at Nando’s and went to Topshop to buy some pants,

#HappyDance

Sometimes when I get high I think about my future like a long winding path that I must travel with my own two feet,

#DeepTweet

The f**k ugly bint you woke up next to after a long night of drinking,

#WTFWasYouThinking

I’m always the shoulder you cry on and never the one you truly see,

#WhyAlwaysMe

I long for the day when the tyranny of the Bourgeoisie is over and lost,

#FingersCrossed

The relevance of the phrase “That’s the best thing since sliced bread!”

#ThingsThatAreDead

The reflex response from anyone caught watching an episode of Glee,

#Don’tJudgeMe

Not having any supermarket sword fights with the stale baguettes,

#2011Regrets

Texting me asking if you can substitute a jonny with some bin bags,

#InstantDeleteOutMyContacts

Thinking reality is just the dream of the dog for which you are sittin’,

#YouMustBeTrippin’

Climbing tree’s, adventuring, Pokémon battles, unbridled love,

#ThingsMyChildhoodConsistedOf

The Sea, having my neck touched & losing both of my ears,

#MyFears

Sniffing a rag when someone says; “Does this smell like chloroform to you?”

#ThingsYouShouldNEVERDo

Lost in thoughts of leaving this country for another gives me constant trembling’s,

#HappyEndings

Not bad, humorous at the least, a modernly brilliant thought at your most. I enjoyed it. =)
