The story of Mr. Cop Man

The story of Mr. Cop Man

A Story by Seantesunflower

A true story
Back in my younger days (lots of blonde moments) I owned a corvette where I knew exactly where the gas pedal was…invariably I was constantly getting pulled over.
Once when in Los Angeles, I got pulled over just for that reason.
I begged the officer to not give me a ticket and he said jokingly that if I did a song and dance that he would let me go.
I stepped out of the car and began to sing and dance….right on a very busy road.
The cop was laughing so hard because that’s not what he expected from me…but then again he didn’t know me!

It was sung to the Mr. Sandman theme…..

Mr Cop man
Please won’t you leave?
Don’t need no ticket because I speed
I didn’t cause an accident I didn’t roll over
I’m bout as lucky as a four leaf clover
Cop man
Leave me alone
Don’t got no money to pay this bone
Please close up your ticket book
Mr Cop man let me off the hook

The officer was laughing so hard that he was crying and he let me go!
And I didn’t get a ticket!
YAY!

I like this for it's simplicity and the fact that you got away with it. I must remember to put some excerpts in about my pretty regular
brushes with authority. Mainly from my military days, but I've had a couple of minor 'moments' since then. Anyway, in your case, you
took what could have been traumatic and produced a pleasant memory from it. Tom
