“You’re turning 10, but you’re still fond of bed time stories. Of all the stories I’ve narrated, the story of how Silvia and Dave met is our favorite, right honey? Yeah!” It is how a new boy in school bumps Silvia and never say sorry, little did she know that the rude boy will be her seatmate. She is irritated with him because he doesn’t want his things and his uniform to be touched by anyone. Later on, she discovered that deep in his very brat attitude lies a seed of generosity. One day she saw him helping an old lady cross the street and giving alms to the poor.

From that day onwards, Silvia and Dave became friends then little by little elevated to best friends. They tell each other’s nooks and crannies in life, they traded secrets that until now is kept and maybe they already forgotten. They even share one flute for music class. Dave’s bratty attitude subsided because of Silvia, she teaches him not to be so much sensitive. Oneday, Dave confesses that he has a crush on their classmate; Silvia’s ears hardly believe it that made her pillow dripping wet of tears because deep inside Silvia is secretly falling for him, but when he found it out, he started to ignore her and worse he evaded her.

Despite having a well-off and easy sailing life since her parents owns a 37 storey hospital building which she will inherit later on; even though she is over flowing in material wealth, there is still one thing that she longs for ever since she is born. She never felt parental love. The only chance that she talks with her parents is through the sticky notes on the fridge. Now her best friend, whom she thought she is love by him, is doing the thing she is afraid of.

The ignoring moment continues up to the day of their high school graduation. Silvia persuaded him because she wanted to reconcile with him since her family is going to migrate to other country. She talked to him with his back against her face. After she’d said it all, he went ahead of her leaving a droplet of tears on the floor and a single goodbye.

Years later when Silvia entered a medical school, she found a new circle of friends that will not let her down and let her realize the true meaning of friendship in her new male friend Frank. Frank is the only son of famous doctors in Guam. His parents are good friends of Silvia’s parents. He is Silvia’s first friend since they migrated. He treated Silvia as his special someone though they don’t put label on whatever they have. He showed Silvia how different she is, how she should stand from the rest of the crowd, he is somehow Silvia’s therapeutic adviser because Silvia somewhat loses her confidence in life. Now Silvia is again pretty, elegantly dressed and a very attractive lady. They get to know each other well through hanging out in the national library, in their favorite Italian restaurant, going to the movie house and even eating in sidewalks.

Today is her last day in the university when she heard a familiar voice calling her name and when she look back, it was him, the boy who was once part of her life, the boy who damp her, who turned his back away from her " Dave.

She hurried down to the hall where the graduation rites will be held but he kept on calling her even if she already ignored him. She saw him waving at her as she receives her diploma and being granted the MD degree and being hooded. At the end of the ceremony she saw Dave standing by the door waiting for her, which made Frank irritable and assured her that no one can hurt her anymore.

As they were going to the fancy restaurant, Dave is still bugging them; Frank loses his temper and confronted Dave. Later on when they were dining Frank  told Silvia that Dave wanted to say sorry and is now ready for a commitment, but then Frank  told him that he’s too late and had thrown a needle in the haystack and only a patient and persevere man could find, “and I found it” Frank  said.

Silvia almost drops her teeth in astonishment as she heard his statement. Together with the declaration is an engagement ring which he wears in her finger and reached her lips. He drove Silvia home which gave them the prerogative to kiss and cuddle as the night progresses and the concupiscence grew hotter.

After two years of married life they found out that Frank is sterile. They had consulted doctors for second opinion and tried every option but nothing happen so their relationship turned rough and worse Silvia even thought of having a divorce.

One day Silvia is knitting while her cat named Tentacle plays with a ball of yarn, received a phone call from the hospital telling her that her husband was involve in a car accident, so Silvia rushed to the hospital to do a major operation but the operation failed. While Silvia is weeping over her husband’s corpse she heard the nurses rushing to the other side of the emergency room which catches Silvia’s attention then suddenly she saw Dave, and learned that Frank was with Dave when the collision happened. Silvia felt pity on Dave so she does the operation and have known that he needed an eye and a heart transplant, Silvia didn’t took a while to decide to donate her husband’s eye and heart immediately while it is still fresh.

After seven years of grief, sorrow, and heartache, Silvia is now a world renowned surgeon and this night she will be awarded a Nobel Prize for the successful trimming of her husband’s heart done in a minute so it will perfectly fit to Dave. Dave is now an owner of the world’s largest thread company, making him the richest man alive and of course Silvia’s husband.

Year later Silvia delivered a baby boy and named him Frank after her late ex-husband. “Unfortunately your grandmother died because of complication when I’m just two days old, leaving Dave, my dad, your grandpa a ‘single goodbye’ and a droplet of tears, good thing her heart was transplanted to me since mine is weak.  So years past I grow up, marry, and when you’re born, our family named you Silvia.’’ “Drink your milk Silvie honey and maybe this is the last time I’m going to tell you that story, since you’re getting a year older by tomorrow.” “Dad!”
