MERE VIII

8th sonnet

I was in a hurry when I first saw you,
But I remember the way you dress, you look
So cool with your short pants, blue vest
Match with white beret.
When I came back to the Store a month
Later, I saw you again, now with a
Purple long sleeve checkers.
I touch your chest and unbuttoned your
Suit because you look choked.
I was shocked as I return to reality
When a saleslady asked: "what size ma'am?
For your boyfriend?" embarrassed,
I run away and never look back, wondering
Why I merely fell in love on a mall mannequin!

Nagaidali ako nang muna ta ikang nakita

Pero natandaan ko ang pagbado-bado mo,

Gwapuhon ka sa sulog mong 'shorts', asul na

Chaleko na may kaiba pang puting kalo.

Pagbalik ko sa tindan matapos ang sang

Bulan, nakita ko ika gilayon. Ngana naka ubeng 'long sleeves' ka na.

Kinaptan ko ang dagan mo, inalin ko man 

Ang butones ta bagang natutungok ka.

Nakigkig ako sa boses nung tindera na ngsabi:

Unong size ma'am? Para sa boyfriend mo?

Napasupog, nag-idali akong makaluwan sa tindahan,

Duruderetsong warang kiling-kiling.

Sabay sabi ko sa sadiri:

Di ako maguna na mamoot ako sa usad na manekin!

Napasupog, naghidali akong makaluwas sa tindahan

Duruderetso warang kiling-kiling.

Sabay sabi ko sa sadiri:

Dae ako maghuna na moot ako sa sarong manekin!
