PovertyA Poem by SeannaWe need to end poverty today, and minister to who needs it most.
I don’t like the place we are in.
We can only afford what we need. We can’t buy pleasure, we can only plead and bargain. Do we really gain though? Because nights are getting lonely, your working so late. When is the last time you took me out on a date? We are willing to break the laws to make ends meet. I would kill for just a little piece of meat. I would even take it as far as to sale a pill for a little money. Funny that you ask if we are poor. You couldn’t tell from our dirty clothes? Our hungry mouths? Our skinny bodies? Our desperation? © 2019 Seanna |
