SoldierA Poem by The Traveler
Walking through the desert
With dirt on his shirt Bags underneath his eyes From being sleep deprived On a mission While you're out fishing You get 8 hours of sleep He spends hours in heat You complain about life While he's sleeping with a knife Each day you struggle to get out of bed While he is having bullets fly past his head In our daily lives we struggle with so little While our soldiers risk their lives Even while leaving their wives At home to wait You're out hoping that fish will take the bait Next time you see a soldier Tap him/her on the shoulder And thank them for protecting you © 2017 The Traveler |
