Glimpse

Glimpse

A Poem by Sean Kuchman
"

Ever felt like this?

"
the problem with
a glimpse
is that you never
take away
the proper lesson
you see what maybe
could be
and somehow should be
and you long for it
you yearn to know
to feel, to have
maybe hold
most of all, you despise it
you hate what
could have been
because, somewhere it
could have been
now, does this mean
that what is, is less?
worse? not the way
it should be?
no. because what is, is.
If it could have been
It would have been
that, that is not, is not
the real problem with the glimpse
is that we never forget
we saw it, tasted it
held it
the true lesson in a glimpse
is simply that
the moments are important
don’t long for what you
do not have
rejoice in what you do
and know that on
some other plane
some other time
someone glimpsed what
you live, what you have
what you love
and right now
they long
for it
that, that is, simply is.

About
I have been writing all of my life. I wrote my first short story- a choose your own adventure- when I was 8. I have been hard at it ever since. I do not do it for want of fame, fortune or glory- altho.. more..
