Steel Paint Brush

Steel Paint Brush

A Poem by Sean Kuchman
"

I wrote this for one of my favorite Tattoo Artists

"
You turn fantasy to reality
Form dreams in a splash of ink
Stories are told in a painted on image
A map of a life seen through
Blue and black hues
With your steel paint brush
A thousand lives you touch
To transform the mediocre
Into the spectacular
To turn ordinary
Into extraordinary
With your hand
And your mind
And your brush
And your ink
You pull what is inside
Out for the world to see
And as the breathing canvas
Writhes ‘neath your
Screaming needle
You pay it no mind
For wee writhing mortals
Cannot compare
To the faeries and dragons
Flowers, b*****s and devils
The demons, the angels
The evil little sisters
The tigers, the cartoons
And all of the roses
That your children
Your boys
Your girls
And their friends
Will carry with them
To the end of their days
Even the words
Singing your praise
Fall short of your work
They fall short by far
For if these mere words
Could describe all you’ve touched
Then, my dear, you
Wouldn’t have need
Of your steel paint brush

Amazing, as if the tattoo artist were an alchemist, turning skin to gold.

If you have a good enough artist, sometimes they do :)

About
I have been writing all of my life. I wrote my first short story- a choose your own adventure- when I was 8. I have been hard at it ever since. I do not do it for want of fame, fortune or glory- altho.. more..
