my catA Poem by sea lily
my cat prowls
around her domain stops to scratch. she, like me, begs for attention with head butts and wide-eyed pleading curls up on record sleeves and stares across the room. often to be found sleeping in the cupboard on my boyfriend's old t-shirts or else in the laundry basket curled up in dirty towels. she eats from a little bowl and leaves black hairs all over my bathtub offers little kisses to the current inhabitant she likes to play with her litter. she stares at the washing machine and hides from hubert. i am looking at her now, she yelps, startled and licks the glossy fur on her stomach.
