cold cars

cold cars

A Poem by sea lily

i am less alone,
in the car.
and the seats that were not made
for human affection
(we agreed)
as i sat in your lap
at three or four a.m.
and felt your hands in my hair,
your lips on my neck.
tinny sounds
driving further into the fog
finding the seaside
finding each other.
i like
sitting in cold cars
and hearing you speak.
