you are going to leave meA Poem by sea lily
we woke, and i was in no hurry
to pull on the tights with the gaping ladder and escape. your arms were like prisons, willing. i checked myself in to the rehab centre and named my problem in its honesty: you are going to leave me. your lips tasted like butter and i regretted my choice of the tiny underwear. the bottle of bourbon stood proudly in the middle of the table, testament to my disgrace and the floods of tears that spattered onto your upturned palms. as they led the way, back to the house. you needn't have tried to make me love you, just read the tiny print on the back of my neck where your lips rested, handle with care. i am quick to love and quick to hate and quick to cry. and this body that joined with yours is no longer mine. told you outright, i won't meet you in the city. now it is dawn and you are going to leave me. © 2010 sea lily |
