near happiness

near happiness

A Poem by sea lily

i cut off all my hair.
it no longer hung
in a moody, drunk sway.
like the girls in the music videos
we tried to imitate.
and the photos
tell the story
frighteningly,
frighteningly
vulnerable.
and empty, susceptible
broken
loose tendrils
on the floor.
you'll be my best friend,
the best
so soften my face
with the brush-touches
of near happiness
so i can feel it
on the back of my neck.

we grow
like little civilisations.

you have mastered the art of simplicity...most don't even know what that means
