idle fantasy

idle fantasy

A Poem by sea lily

I don't know if she was beautiful,
but she took beautiful photographs.
with swinging hair,
jeans hang loosely
off your hips
like a boy trying to affect
nonchalance.
since I went away
I sleep,
twice a day.
and I miss your solitude.
and now I know
that you're human
can I have your human body?
(but let me keep his memory.)
and allow me
every fantasy
that people will permit
in my idle,
uneducated
imaginationary...
or we could pretend to be friends.
And never trust each other
to want entirely.
testing out romance,
kissing noses
and making bird noises
down by the reservoir.
I could wear my muddy boots
and you could wear
those shoes
that your mother hates.
we could forget
that she lived in your bed.
and used your toothbrush.
