A Poem by sea lily

i'm the only one
who has to know
your black-and-white pleading
your sensual
needing
of me.
and in your way
you asked for the remnants
of my virginity.
to part my pale thighs
and find your release.
who could ask
for more from me?
i promised this years ago
to a boy
who
converted to christianity.
and we never grew up
we're still
sharing strawberries
under a chestnut tree.
and one day
you'll leave all of this
and you'll see
that it was never really about me.
