a place

A Poem by sea lily

i waited for spring,
counted the days
on my fingers
and toes.
it's february.
it's still cold.
in that place,
we walked over the shale
twisting our ankles in our boots
just to get a view.
i sat down on the dry rocks,
and thought of you.
you
at the height of summer.
forgetting
you loved another.
since the halcyon days faded...
i've grown coarse.
and my heart
shrank
retreated from yours.
but through this
i use water and ink
for your small frame
along the shore.

Beautiful portrait. It has a soft touch like watercolors. You captured a cold and empty feeling, but the memories provide a happiness that balances it all out.
Very Nice.

Short lines, small words, big picture. To do so much with so much understatement is a rare--and valuable--gift.

you glow...(but I don't believe you're changing your ways...)
