A Poem by sea lily

i had roots
that pushed through my scalp.
and sweat
that pushed through my palms.
i had words
but no verbal charm.
i was quiet then,
and could project my dreams.
we took photos then,
when i had friends.
one said;
"i hate seeing you
like this
hiding your face
from a stranger's kiss."
but i wanted it.
and the girl in the photo
pushed fluoxetine into her blood
like it was pushed on her
and tried lightening her hair.

got caught in the camera's glare.
