snowdrifts

snowdrifts

A Poem by sea lily

alone,
with sleepy eyes,
in the world of pre-dawn
i am the one.
i always wake before the sun.
step into the navy sky
then the cold corner bus
we never meet.
the snowdrifts beckon
to the capers of love
but i sent them all away.
i no longer venture out
when the sun greets the day.

i just wish,
for once
i had somebody to hold my gloves
or walk me through the snow
as it turns to slush.

I second the love; for something so spare, it's thoroughly haunting and plaintive.
