girl alone again

girl alone again

A Poem by sea lily

you realise,
with the passing of the time.
your ex-lover has found other lovers
to fill their bedspace.
and you fill your own nights.
nights when only the coolness of the pillow
strokes your cheek.
i like being alone.
especially now,
being whipped by the cold.
when you have everything, nobody can bear to witness
your unhappiness.
your outsides a fractured image
of your insides.
when you have nothing...
when you have nothing.
took tinder to your bridges
and watched them go up.

my best friends share their beds with girls
and i share mine with books.
i fill my romantic headspace
with meaningful looks.
