amelioration

amelioration

A Poem by sea lily

there
the head that insistently grips
her mind.
that shies
from the electric light.
and the feet
that freeze inside her boots
and won't let her run,
across the slick, snow-driven
ground melted
by the sun.
the lips
that unwillingly kiss
in all manner of situations.
just to find emotional

refuge.
in her dreams, every night
the abandon of all control.
but the knowledge

of being right.
