bits and pieces

bits and pieces

A Poem by sea lily

i painted roses on my lips,

a hush to keep out

the quiet.

the words.

"justify it to yourself,

for your kindness.

you weren't fixed up.

patched up.

in fact

you were even more in pieces

at the end of the war.

lying there,

bits of heart

strewn across the floor."

shouted at me

over a table

and i stared at the ceiling...

well those bits are dead.

and it was most that i've felt

since the first blossom of fourteen,

for a bird-girl.

with green eyes,

and dark hair.

there was so much to be found there.

Like this poem as well. I can sense a story in it. Great choice of words and a really nice job.
