more feversleep

more feversleep

A Poem by sea lily

tangled in a sheet,

cold in the winter's double-layered

blanket heat.

fever dreams

from the days of lacking sleep.

morning hunger,

dozing, lazy,

(can't-write-too-sleep-hazy.)

there

we perverted our need.

and the dogs were let out

snapping at our feet.

like she said;

"imagine him

bending to your height

just to kiss you."

well he did,

and we couldn't be found.

in a trail of ghosts,

with no burial mound.

we lived there for years.

and through the night

my head carried me

through the ice winter,

into deep spring,

light summer.

through autumn showers.

i shut my eyes for fifteen hours.

This is as beautiful as always.

Believe me I completely understand the concept of sleep depravity. Not only can I relate to it.. but the imagery is great, also.

That read like fevered thoughts. Found it quite enjoyable and it felt very warm all the way through. Nicely done, I think.
