girl

girl

A Poem by sea lily

i wanted to be like that

beautiful

meaningless

wide blue eyes

girl.

he loved her first

and loved me last.

so i couldn't have kept him,

i was

the second angel in his eyes.

she is an angel;

never complains

no heavy brow

and agreeing, always agreeing.

he told me of her trailing stories

and the embarrassment that came over

those wide,

almost alien

eyes.

i wanted to kiss her

just as soon as kill her

for daring to exist.

maybe i could

bleach my hair too

and find some kind of semblance

even if my eyes

aren't blue.

they had a way

of seeing only the good

in everybody.

i think i seek out the poison.

they had a way

of over-empathy

not in my trailing guts,

and obnoxious tears way.

it was soft-spoken

and never cruel.

now out of the woodwork,

the worms finally speak.

trying to find her error

in the romantic throes.

say;

and she was oh-so-pretty

when her hair fell past her earlobes.

You always have really beautiful, modest endings to your poems. I wish I could write like you.
