A Poem by sea lily

dance dance

drunk, dead.

they asked us to leave

because she sat down on the floor.

and i helped you up.

then in my heart i thought

i could find you

even if

if my eyes couldn't see you

location

in crowd isolation.

(she knows me too well,

in a drunken sway

eyes held

in a certain way

up and down,

hair between fingers,

flirt and play.)

if i'm writing this drunk

that's okay.

and if you cross the road,

i promise not to hold you close.
