matthew

A Poem by sea lily

slow-moving optimist,
safe in gravy-stirrer hands,
held in pulling-evening revelry.
hardly an object of poetry.
i'm coughing on you,
you're smiling at me.
pretending you're an airplane.
i don't mind visiting here,
when you're a kind of family.
big brother, looking after me
in a low blood sugar, second break,
loaded with vitamins
kind word to say.
second in command,
wouldn't have it any other way.
