warming

warming

A Poem by sea lily

warm, smooth grip
across dangerous paths,
your dancing eyes above me.
no headsure seduction but
impossible to let go, fingers mingling
and playing with a hope.
i want you to move me, to shake my bones.
i want to feel your weight,
like your leather
to tell me something nobody else knows.
i think you're there--
beneath a painful uncertainty
and a timid touch.
but perhaps you've warmed my heart
despite, and abstinence much more proof...
when i worry half the night,
until i know you're safe home, too.
