ghostA Poem by sea lily
a silent silhouette against my doorframe
falls of hair shielding a dear face awkward, sloping movements turned fluid the rasp of covers. slow form sliding next to me a graze of lips at the nape of my neck against my boyish hairline a tremulous turn. the illusion fades - softly outlined hips curved mirror, empty transparent form only, a memory of flickering eyelashes dark candles in the moonlight hair like pale spiderwebs, glowing a deep ache, now. a solemn christmas vigil for my expired miracle. © 2008 sea lily |
