a house

a house

A Poem by sea lily

strange enclosed space
adjacent to where they once slept
often in anger, sometimes in peace.
and waiting for my turn
i grew suddenly a rush of affection
for this shrunken old man
who even now keeps his paternal watch
on my little mother and
this place where my tottering legs
once roamed with her.
