A Poem by sea lily

crisp october, the icy stillness flowing through my veins
lyrics floating on the surface of my mind
you left too soon, i slept in so late
and i woke up to a world that was glowing.
i want to build a nest from cotton warm
and invite you to stay with me, curled up and serene
soft snores in sleep, two where there once was three
dynamics beyond comprehension or sense
in my autumnal optimism.
and my capacity for you, in the morning, at night
and all the other times in between
and we wouldn't be so shy, the greatest felicity
smiling at you in the quiet sunrise, and knowing.
