The LedgeA Poem by TheSeaOfWoeWritten about a friend begging another friend to step down from a ledge and not commit suicide.
Step back,
do not fall, for the brink shows no mercy, none at all, do you not see that it is not worth it?
Step back, lest you find yourself grated against the rough ground below, this brink is unforgiving, it is not soft as snow, do you not understand me?
Step back, you fool, unless you think pain and suffering is the way to go, please stay here with me, do not jump, do you not hear me telling you not to go?
Step back, or you will find yourself slipping somewhere you really don’t want to go, there is nothing but pain and darkness, did I not tell you this long ago, are you not listening fool?
And now you have fallen, you did not heed my warning, your blood spilling as you crashed against the rocks below, the hole’s name is Depression, why did you let it give you a go?
You have survived your fall, but for how long, you must climb back up or else you will die, and now you have made me cry, will you let me pull you back up?
I love you my friend, I will never let you go, even if you become just a memory, blood stains in the cold and pure snow, why did you do this to the people you know?
They wanted to help you, I just wanted to let you know, that I gave it all I had, even if you didn’t remember it as so, I love you, did you love me?
Now that you’re almost gone, your heart rate slowly disappeared and now you are gone, and know that this is so, I’m not sure if I’ll ever know...
