The Sea of Woe

The Sea of Woe

A Poem by TheSeaOfWoe
"

A person has set sail on a raft on the ocean, trying to find a way to get to land. They now find themselves surrounded by wrecked ships, with only the moonlight illuminating the world around them.

"

The Sea of Woe

I drift along the calm and deep sea,

old wrecked ships surrounding me,

they were to my every side,

I figured they must crashed during ill tides,

and they left behind a graveyard of woe.

Of this I know,

the pain and suffering they had,

long lost,

as the ship’s body was among the waves being tossed,

it was pain inflicted long ago,

which now lay below this sea of woe.

These ships held memories,

tales from friends and enemies,

from friend and from foe,

these tales spun long before they met their fates,

their souls left to drift here in this sea of woe.

I felt remorse in my heart,

a pain arose around my ribs,

my legs felt as if they were ready to give,

I couldn’t help but feel my strength begin to unwind,

I couldn’t control myself as I started to cry,

There was horrible pain,

inflicted upon me with the thought of what these poor souls went through,

I wept and I wept,

from my body, the strength was swept,

I stopped my raft,

yes I stopped my raft,

and I stayed there,

I simply stayed there,

I simply left my soul to rest there,

to stay and join that dreaded sea of woe.
