I fell

I fell

A Poem by Michelle N. H.

I tripped over a stone on my path

And I fell into your arms

Warm, protecting and long enough

For you to grasp the whole of me

I slipped into your truth by accident

As I was tenderly seized by your gaze

Within a dream that felt authentic

Within an untainted shade of willow brown

In which my image became apparent

Until you blinked and it grew dull

I awoke to life in an instant

Breathing worry once more

And I found myself incapable of

Putting into words

How I fell for you in a moment

I wanted to make last

As we went in opposite directions

And you never looked back

You broke into my heart

When I tripped on my path

To fell into your muse's or lovers arms, is to fall almost like a mule, over the stone, three times ;-) but then with the right need, and concious! wow, this is, real, poignant, and so honest..... you are in your first two lines I think so aware of what you are, and wanted to bring over.

To lose yourself into another, is pure love, it's art, it's the way I feel your sentence, or better said, your way of expressing:

"I slipped into your truth by accident
As I was tenderly seized by your gaze
Within a dream that felt authentic
Within an untainted shade of willow brown
In which my image became apparent
Until you blinked and it grew dull"

In combination with this fine UK music, that suites my ears,
I only can further dream... of this moment, as you spoil your readers,
with your high sensitivity. BUT, then my dear friend, you sparkle in
your fantastic dramatic and melancholic European heart, when the second half
of your positivism, turns, into real felt distance, pain, and acceptance, of letting go

It's pure art, here, nothing more nothing less, it's fantastic how you feel a moment,
and how you can bring it into words, for it's purity my sweet friend... you have a gift,
and (many shall not feel it as I do), but you have... and I'm grateful to have been here,
to let it all in, feel it, dance with it, and embrace it, for there is nothing more beautiful,
Than a raw northern European moment, felt, and penned out. Thank you... love.

The coming back to life part, really got me. It was very accurate. This feeling of turmoil after moments of bliss. I love the story as whole and the poetic justice you have given it. And I love the ending. (:

Exquisite writing. Your musical choice makes it soothing and a bit sad as well.

Well, thanks a lot :)
The feeling this poem creates is so ambivalent. From the beginning till the end - from flying to falling, from love to lose, from past to future. It has nice structure, which makes me attracted to the sense and to obvious surreal elements of dream. Even it`s not a dream, it could be - the way you feel with your memory and beloved.

I slipped into your truth by accident
As I was tenderly seized by your gaze
Within a dream that felt authentic
Within an untainted shade of willow brown

It is marvelous. Thank you!

To experience the bliss of falling in love comes with it the consequence of feeling the pain of falling out of love...

True that. You explain the wholeness in a lone sentence. Thank you. :)
Now this poem was very special indeed. Falling in love...though perhaps by accident, it still feels as wonderful until they don't look back. Just a glance is all it would have taken, but sadly that was not the case. Beautifully penned.

You are welcome...:-).......................
Sometimes I wonder the hows of we letting go...and all the whys we trade - and the reasons - that we don't.

A thought-full flow that held my fingertips captive as my eyes listened to ...someone I could wish would find ...me.
