First collisionA Poem by Michelle N. H.At first I didn't catch your name I felt one with the air Surrounding us Drawn to follow its direction I noticed my dress And the scent from my neck Sweetened by summer wind Turning towards you I couldn't reject your hand Pale and unsteady as it was And you couldn't stand still Eager to show me the world Through turbid eyes An individual perspective That was yours And the opposite of mine
Time would have me learn That my heart is a cherry blossom Words of warmth grew flowers On branches that wrapped themselves Around your body Around your mind Absorbing you in pieces Illuminating every corner Of your being
And as you entered me For the first time Through doors guarded with care There was an alignment We met in the middle Of everything As our worlds collided Flesh upon flesh Trembling waves Tasting meat Tasting of sweat We became a solitary force A combustion of energy Devouring all An inferno Dripping blood With an internal disgust That burned us hollow Leaving flowers to wither And a part of us To die
Still As the sun grew dimmer With each day passing through We held on to nothing With persistence Not willing to let go Although nothing Was all we were A lie disguised as true I was waiting for a man I never knew © 2023 Michelle N. H.Author's NoteFeatured Review
