Something beautiful

Something beautiful

A Poem by Michelle N. H.

There is a sigh within my sentences

And a line I have to cross

A light strokes my table to

Escape the morning rush

And to grieve for the loss of

Something beautiful

It escapes me every now and then

Between these timid fingers

Like snowflakes during winter

Melts in the palm of a hand

I cannot seem to grasp

What I am not thought

To understand

But it was

Yet came to be

For mortal  eyes   only

 Something  beautiful   that    escaped     me

This is such a realisation, that often comes on early mornings... how many times, we feel so rushed, and yearn for a moment of peace, and rest, and awareness... and most of all balance the (three)... ;)

I love it how you richly speak in metaphor, and compare this feeling to snow, that falls on the palm of your hands, for there it melts, and it becomes one, with your skin, as the feeling does fades away, or will "be accepted".

Your ending, is so trancient, impermanent, and ellusive, it's that "precisely" that you can bring over so well with your gifted pen, my sweet Sis. A real beautiful piece of felt poetry here... Lovely! -x-

It's difficult to find a way to convey our thoughts sometimes and that's a huge part of being a writer - putting our feelings into words that others can understand, while leaving them with all the emotions that we feel ourselves, as writers. I love this piece, it really captures the essence of what that loss of words feels like.

Lost love? The meaning is a little unclear, but I suppose that's what's great about poetry--leaving it up to the reader to interpret. Overall, a very lovely piece.
