A funeral

A funeral

A Poem by Michelle N. H.

For a moment we lost the track of time

Each holding a memory dear to the heart

There was a silence amongst us, then a chime

To lead us ahead, from life further apart

Clothed in dark shadow we went past the light

Indoor a house of wisdom, a sudden shed of skin

We forgot our name whilst perceptible the sight

The remains of a man who once had been

Unwilling to speak for the dread of a tear

In the splendor of her face, a naked expression

There is a longing, a hunger within a woman's stare

For a lover, a friend, a lifelong companion

You begin to understand all things have an end

And what thou claim to own is not truly of your belonging

Our bodies are but borrowed, they will fall and descend

Yet I trust, somewhere still, he will for her be waiting

This piece once again reminds me of science and psychology . Our basic needs from birth and from the time we take our last breath . The reality that there's stages in life that we have to go through . Some look ahead and beyond just like what the author did on this piece . But some would rather enjoy the jouney and not to look ahead in the destination until that appointed time come knowing into their door and stare them in the face . Perhaps its good to look ahead perhaps not . But those who do have away of using their time wisely and not just simply wasting it away to some trivial matters on life . Maslows Hierarchy of Needs address such benevolence and needs in life . Yes even growing old for death and dying is part of cycle of life .

This is just the body and science may have mapped it well . The soul is another story . For the soul is destined to live forever and so are the things we treasure and esteemed the most including our love and affection on someone else . For its part of us and our conscious being . Wow ..this is thought provoking piece . Its so many angle and take you can take it from . Brilliant !

Beautiful view, I am still there, standing in the funeral and watching each and every dreaded heart irrespective of them know my presence.

How beautifully captured me, wwoowwww!!!!

Funeral, is something you can quote as the most seraphic moment the most blessed moment the most realistic moment. Yes it is true, we are rented, we can never be purchased it is something you can say when your tenure is over you are the one who gift your soul to someone else to live few moments of his/her life.

We are all blessed.

Stay blessed young writer.

Keep writing great!!

Like an artist with water color paint. You mix life with fate. Our needs and wants can sometimes bleed past eternity. A funeral is just a parade on life.

I believe so, that love is everlasting.
Beautifully written. I believe that funerals can be a time to reflect on OURSELVES as well. To see that the present is only here for a short time. As for the dead I believe they are sleeping in death, and if chosen will be ressurrected to live once again. Nicely done Michelle.

A funeral can be used as a time to reflect on ourselves, I like that :) Thank you so much.

Death and funerals teach us hard lessons. I believe we should learn from a funeral. Is to enjoy life and have fun. Life is very short. I like the ending. A wish for the most of us to find people we lost and miss. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
