Time Stands Still

Time Stands Still

A Poem by Samantha Lay

Time stands still as he arises
Beyond the shadows of past lives
Stepping forth the light ascends
To reveal a thousand staring eyes
Fear fills the soul
Uncontrollable screams pierce the ears
Ripping away the world of tears
Feet can not move
Embedded within the earth
He walks upon an inferno
Nothing on beyond human flesh
Breath deep the sizzling skin begins to rot
The smell of death overwhelms my thoughts
Pointing to me I fear the worst
Burning inferno will devour me
The moment comes
Swallowed whole by the earth
Time becomes forever lost
Someone takes my hand
I beg and plead
I fear death
Unaware of he who holds me dear
Consuming the fear, he smiles and speaks clear.
" Do not fear what is unknown only cherish what has come to pass for the true lesson my dear is control of ones life. "
We depart
A journey is not simple nor is my life
Time stands still as he arises
Not a moment has past
I take one deep breath
Step forth into the shadows
Paying no mind to he who brought fear too all.
