With Which Weapon Do YOU Kill?

With Which Weapon Do YOU Kill?

A Poem by Nicole

Oh Juliet,

Poison or daggers?

Which of these deaths do you chose?

Each will ultimately find their place

And play in the end upon you.

You're very near now to the final drawing

of you and your very last breath,

It’s time to choose which you will use

in bringing your mortality's rest-

Do you take the coward’s way out,

And fight only to numb all the pain?

Or do you choose bleed upon daggers,

And embrace the stinging red rain?

Do you wallow in thoughts filled only with pity,

And heroic-sort self-sacrifice,

And did you ever stop to think

What would be the cost of your life?

At least with the dagger, you’ve given a fight,

There’s no blackness now, just the red touch of night.

But have you not endured

Too much pain for mortals keep?

Maybe it’s better,

With sweet poison’s soft sleep.

For truly your love has fallen too far,

For you to live on still.

So answer my plea, dear Juliet,

With which weapon do you kill?

Nicole
I meant this to be read as a poem about self harm-- it's all symbolic. I'd be interested in seeing how you guys interpreted it.
