Ode to Kelly Kapowski

Ode to Kelly Kapowski

A Poem by Scribbles
"

I think I channeled Zack Morris' soul...

"

My thoughts, though tumbling from a bleach-blonde brain,

I, unashamed, shall pluck forth like so many

Unwanted split ends,

Of friends, of ends, of moral dividends,

Time to spend,

With you, my love.

Once bitten never shy,

Once abandoned.

Did I truly

Sail within the caressing confines

Of your beach ball jerseyed breast?

Still caught within the crest, I fell in love between the seams

Heart ripped apart by acid wash jeans

Broken dreams of lovers, gaze cut short across

A mango malted shake

The quake

The ache

The wake of sheer destruction left by the demise

The memory of your eyes my only prize

The guise of joy

The flea now free to suck the loveless membranes

The remains,

Decaying since you left me

Sweet Kelly Kapowski.

"Heart ripped apart by acid wash jeans".. wow, isn't it funny how lustful appeal seems to sting that much more when one's heart winds up broken? Love everything about this piece, especially the cold, hard truth- you convey your heartache so convincingly.
