The Tree in my Dreams

The Tree in my Dreams

A Poem by Memory'sEdge

With no comfort in life

With the fear from the world

I lay my head to rest

but everytime

I close my eyes

The fear just keeps replaying

there's no escape

there's no where to hide

not even in my dreams

everytime the hate closes in

ever since 10 years ago

an evil that's all in my head

the lurks in the shadows by my bed

I'm older now and I can't seem to forget

but I also had a way to escape

All I think of is a tree

a great big tree

it's branches stretching to the heavens

it's a tree covered in gold

painted on it's bark

It's a golden wrold

With golden sky

and shadows don't exsist

it's my happy place

a place of refuge

that tree in my dreams

when it appears

all evil fades away

no pain, no dark, no hatred

the tree takes it all

I cling to it and it protects me

with a warm light shining forever
