Forgetful ghosts

Forgetful ghosts

A Poem by Peter Wisdom

It's the curls of her smile that put me in denial.

It was the twinkle in her eye that sparked infernos high.

It was the sweet despair that brought me here.

So near to the edge but so far from the truth.

I couldn't conquer my demons so I became one instead.

Locked up inside my head, it fills with terrors that are divine.

Twisted are these thoughts of mine. Turned my emotions blind.

And stares of judgement fly my way. But forever distant I shall stay.

I toast to the darkness which inspires me most.

And forever I will watch forgetful ghosts.
