The Fury of ShelckA Story by ScoxanderA prologue from the book i'm writing
Once there was a man, all noble and grand
He considered himself as the handsomest in all the lands Perhaps in even in the whole world Since his hair was so nicely golden curled He wore armor made of the finest steel Large and silver colored with just a dash of teal T' was the knight named Shelck and despite being smugly None dared to call him annoying or ugly And if one ever should doubt The man would not pout He would become infuriated and yell Making everyone's life a living hell For that was Shelck, his temper by far the grandest He was strong, brutal and a tempest When one day he and his men walked past a castle wall A man standing guard wished to see him fall Together with his friends they came up with a devious design they stalked into the kitchen to steal a jug of brine Shelck stood still but a moment as his men scouted ahead When the guards above dropped the jug right on on his head Shelck's golden curly strands swiftly turned a vile green While the guards above laughed that he looked like a latrine Shelck clenched his fists and shouted at the men on the wall "I shall have thou heads for this! I shall make thou all crawl!" The men laughed even harder still and said "T' is a pity that he has not fled" "Still, one must find it quite amusing" "To see such a man with his hair now oozing" Shelck was shaking and stood grinding his teeth His sweat turned to steam, his head radiated such heat "My hero!" His men called "Let us leave this place" "Leave?!" He yelped "I shan't walk out in disgrace!" "T' is in a castle they sit, M'Lord" "And our own allies by the king's accord" "Oh" Spoke a man on the wall "Shelck the brave and knightly" "T' is more than likely, Shelck the knave and unsightly!" How his anger grew with every word that was thrown Shelck did have the foulest of tempers, his men had always known As he began to shout, his men dared not attempt to restrain "Thou dare laugh at the handsome Shelck?! Thou shall all be slain!" "They all think it is humorous" "While we are more numerous!" The hero ran at the gate and yelled "I shall have the offender!" He kicked the portcullis and bellowed "Thou shall all surrender!!" Shelck's skin glowed red much like a cinder Then his curly green hair acted as tinder Fire sputtered from his ears Flames wrapped around his head like some ghastly beard "Oh dear" one of his men said with great terror "I believe they made a terrible error" Shelck's men all stepped 4 paces back While the gate started to tear and crack Suddenly the men up on the wall stopped their jeering And looked down below to see what they should be fearing T' was crazed Shelck and his most furious rage A guard on the wall said "That man should be thrown and locked in a cage!" When the castle gate finally crumbled and turned to dust A man pleaded on his knees "Have mercy, Shelck the mighty and just..." But such cries were by now far too little, far too late Shelck huffed and puffed "I shall decide thine fate!" He stared at him with a most furious gaze Then the man's shirt caught fire and was set ablaze Shelck killed anyone he managed to find For his anger had made him utterly blind With one frantic swing he chopped off 6 heads He leaped from man to man ripping them to shreds But then another mighty knight stood up And yelled to Shelck "I will make you squeal like a pup!" The knight took his shield and closed his visor Shelck hissed "To think that one would be wiser" He turned his sword that now was red hot And threw it at the knight who soon was naught The castle wall did indeed crumble And Shelck had to stand before the king all small and humble "Why did you destroy that castle," He asked "who let you be judge and jury?" "Oh" Shelck replied "No need to worry, t' was only my f*****g fury." © 2012 Scoxander |
