What Dreams RemainA Poem by ScotchRobertsMy thoughts on what lies in the past, what lies ahead, and what it all means.Just as I know the seemingly endless ocean Will eventually reach a shore, I once thought I was immortal, But I don't think that way anymore. As dreams descend from ether to Earth, I see them better for what they are - Mile markers strewn along chosen paths Reminding me where I've been so far. So looking ahead as if squinting out to sea, I search the horizon through the haze. There to discern what dreams remain Like glimmers of hope born on glinting rays. And there I find my children. I feel reborn within their eyes. The essence of God is the goodness We leave in other people's lives. So in them I am immortal. At least I hope to be. May they pass on what good I gave them, As they set sail upon their sea. © 2010 ScotchRobertsReviews
