Cages and keys

Cages and keys

A Poem by Scorpion Flametail

No, stop, don't think

No, can't break the link

Chained, caged, locked up tight

Screaming, crying, into the night

Oh, no one will hear

No, just ignore my tears

Into despair, I begin to sink

Away from all, I begin to shrink

But soon, in the cavernous night

I almost think I see a light

A smile so kind, and so clear

The face of a friend I hold dear

After reading, I was drawn to this conclusion: ‘Having a friend who supports you when you really need help is a true friend’! Nicely captured within your poetic text – nice write! :-)

I understand the feeling of being trapped by growing darkness, and the fact that it's in your mind makes it that much harder to fight. Great poem :)

Has a spiritual sound to it. Maybe not conventional religion, but the mystic experience that is the heart of it. The High Ground appearing in the belly of the night.
