Sympathy for a wine glass

Sympathy for a wine glass

A Poem by Scorpio6

My heart breaks like the wine glass I just threw.

Shattering across the wall,

Red showering on the white paint and running down to the floor.

My anger, my sadness, my whole heart breaking, despair like that broken vessel

A vessel that usually brings joy but now it is nothing but a pile of glass and spilled wine.

Now it is nothing, like our love, dripping like the red.

Your lies take over, there is no more hiding.

My trust is destroyed, like the thousands of slivers of glass.

How can you do this and not see the damage?

I threw my wine glass trying to get your attention,

now it is just the perfect example of my world.

Broken, shattered, dismal, empty.
