Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve

A Poem by Jamie
"

a tale of Christams Eve

"

Hours tick by, the time draws near,
Is that sleigh bells in the air we hear;
T’is the Eve of Christmas, crisp and cold,
Presents are plentiful for young and old.

The tree so proud, all twinkling and glittery,
Socks hung up, mince pies and brandy;
Santa comes tonight, and all will be still,
Children tucked in bed, waiting for mornings thrill.

Midnight draws near, and all is silent,
Windows frosted, and shops now vacant,
Look outside; it was not there a while ago;
The ground now covered in pure white snow.

Santa has arrived, and he moves so fast,
Now the Eve hour leaps into the past;
Holly and mistletoe rattle on the door,
The moon shines bright, but it’s Eve no more
.
