Frozen

Frozen

A Poem by Nicole
"

This is just an example of traditional haiku that I wrote for my project. In japanese, this is called a haikai.

"

Frozen
Winter breeze bites sharp
Sleeping forest lies in wait
Frozen and dormant

Small, twitching noses
Poke from burrows, shrubs and trees
Only things awake

Blue and white statues
Waiting for warmth, not yet dead
Barren trees dozing

Awaken forest!
Flowers raise their heads, trees stir
Warmth rouses mammals

Birds sing, home again
Animals waking rejoice
Plants are quiet, still

Different sleeping
Different awake as well

Yet both are the same

Author's Note

Nicole
I did this in about five minutes, and it is just an example, but I hope you like it. P.S. it's a haiku, so please ignore the grammar problems (I think haiku ignores grammar).
