Stitches

Stitches

A Poem by Alex Delk
"

A short poem.

"

All the world’s riches,

Could not sew these stitches,

For your words are far greater than dollar amounts.

My only confession,

Is that worldly possessions,

Bear no meaning, for my heart can’t count.

So let it be known,

If these stitches are sewn,

The pain will not cease to live

For the hurt that I feel

Is incessant and real

Yet my heart still continues to give.

I think with a little work you could make this flow much better. I'm not sure how the other reviewer found this to be warm and comforting...I found it to be quite dismal.

@Rachelmarie thank you for your support!

@TheresaDo that's odd. I was going more for cold, dark, and ominous, but if it makes you feel warm inside, then I guess I've done my job as a poet :)

I'm not a fan of overly rhyming poetry, but this has just the right about of SOPHISTICATED rhymes.( not like Cat, Hat, Mat.)

so I think that this is one of the few rhyming poems that I actually like!

This gives off a warm comforting feeling :) I like it, but it's kind of short
