For The Light

This describes what I've been going through my whole life...

Looking up, I see light.

I run, and run,

And run.

However, 

I have not yet been washed over by the bright and welcoming light,

Instead, 

Darkness still swallows me whole.

My aching soul yearns for freedom,

For joy,

For fight within me.

In the darkness,

My inner demons, 

They circle around me like hungry vultures,

Waiting for me to bend and break.

They taunt me,

Torture me,

Harass me.

I begin to give up.

I will never be free.

Wait!

What's this?

Light? 

Getting closer?

I...

I did it. 

My demons lay there dead, in the light.

I grin,

Feeling triumphant.

Forever will I fight,

For the light.
