A Poem by Scatterbrain bookworm
"

A slightly far fetched and somewhat miniscule depiction of romantic love.

"
He held her close,
It was as though she were his
lifeline
As if letting her go,
Would cause his world to fall apart.

She was shocked,
Mesmerized and utterly befuddled.
No one had ever held her quite
like this,
Let alone stared at her with
such longing,
It truly was a sight to behold.

For one tense moment,
They simply cherished the,
close proximity,
Staring at each other fondly,
As if nothing could break
them a part.

It was as though they were one
being,
In that moment.
Two halves of a soul,
That had always been incomplete,
Yearning and searching for the
other,
To finally feel complete.

My apologies for any grammatical errors which may appear in the poem. I wrote this poem in 2019 and do not necessarily believe that this is what romantic love is like, but at the time the concepts within this poem were heavily influenced by how everyone around me had described their understanding of romantic love. So my apologies for how cringe worthy this is likely to be. Any feedback as well as title ideas for this piece would be much appreciated.😅
