The man in the shadows

Character description for a possible novel idea perhaps?🙈😅

An aura of danger and
mystery
Surrounded him.
Like an undeniable pull,
it was hard to resist.

It was insufferable
And yet so tempting
Silently lurking
But never quite there.

It was as if he became,
One with the shadows.
As if he were never there,
To begin with.

Nobody would ever understand,
The true beauty of such a creation.
He didn't even realize it himself,
The man in the shadows.

Author's Note

My apologies for any grammatical errors that may appear within the poem. The language itself is relatively simplistic and this was a poem that I had written back in 2018, so I would like to believe that I have improved since then. Any feedback with regards to Grammer, language, style, tone and how to improve my writing overall would be much appreciated. 😅🙈

I pictured him in a belted raincoat and a hat with a brim overshadowing his eyes. Very much a product of the 1950’s. He lit a cigarette and I saw the end glowing red in the dark:) I enjoyed the read.
